Think positive
Every morning I am blessed with the opportunity to pack my 6 year olds lunch. I carefully select a fruit that I know he will enjoy. I decide between chicken tenders or a turkey sandwich…his two favorite go to’s. And of course, I don’t forget to add a cookie as a treat. After making all the important nutritional choices, I make the most valuable selection yet…his words of affirmation. It is a ritual that after I pack all his food options I write a note with 3 daily affirmations. Commonly I chose words like brave, protected and I always close with love, mom. These sentences are formed in “I” statements. You can say “I am” in front of any verb and have an instant affirmation customized for your little one. Just remember to always close with, love mom. I am a firm believer that we need to speak life into our children so that the world can’t remove life from them.
Be Positive
In the pursuit of raising children who are confident and have high self esteem, I share with them words that can build them internally. I encourage my children to love themselves. I make it a priority to lead by example. Teaching our children to believe in themselves is the armor that they need to fight against the cruelness of the world. No matter what name they are called or disparaging remark is thrown their way, the positive thoughts we have taught them to know as truth, will block their effects. We are charged with the responsibility of protecting our children. Protection often shows up in the form of correction. Preparing your children to correct the negative thoughts and transform those thoughts into positivity is a form of protection. It is my belief that verbally telling your children you love them, along side with other daily affirmations can be so transformative. It can change their outlook on life as well as boost their self esteem. Here are some daily affirmations for your children that not only can improve their thoughts but, also encourage reading.
